Happy Halloween from my little Minnie Mouse!

Des Moines has this crazy tradition of going trick-or-treating the night before Halloween. They call it Beggar's Night. I guess it was to cut down on the crime some 50 years ago and it just stuck. We opted to go trick-or-treating in the mall since we don't really know the people in the neighborhood by our townhomes. It was good enough for a 3yr old, she got her candy and got to wear her costume! Maybe next year when our friends little girl is older we'll go in their neighborhood with them!

15 year Reunion

I know you are all anxiously awaiting the pictures from the "big" 15 year reunion!

I got to the park around 10:15...yep running late...story of my life lately! Jackie was there with her 2 boys Grant and Davis, (and some nieces!). I had Alexa and my niece Natalee with me. We chatted for about an hour, but no one else showed. It was good to talk and catch up! I didn't get my camera out at the park...wasn't thinking about it!

We had a fairly good showing up at JB's. 9 total, but Brian was gone before we got a picture...so only 8 showing! There were a lot of other people there as many other classes showed for their reunions also. Here are some pics from the night....

Hi Everyone,

It's hard to believe 15 years have come and gone and looking back, life is very different from where we left off.

I now live in Rochester, MN and have since college. While I still have a passion for music and numbers, I've channeled my musical abilities to use mostly in church and get my number fix keeping books for my two part time jobs consulting for Tastefully Simple and Norwex. I am a stay at home mom as well, which I never thought I'd do. Strangely enough, it's probably the busiest and hardest job I'll ever have. Keeping up with the household, the finances, 2 kids and 2 dogs while running 2 consulting business doesn't leave much time for relaxing, that's for sure.

Having not played sports in high school, I now am a sports enthusiast. I play A level volleyball on a coed team and the occasional women's team, I play tennis, bike and love my late night walks (can't beat the quiet!). When time allows, we also like to ski, horseback ride, hike and swim. And I love fall, as that's when football starts. You can hardly get me away from the tv on Sundays - thank God for Tivo. (I'm anxious to see Brett Favre as a Viking - hey it could happen:) )

My husband, Matt, of 11 years this august, is now working at Mayo. We're very happy to have him at a stable job. After starting his computer career at IBM, he was a consultant for an East Coast firm - lots of travel, created a start up company with previous coworkers - lots of headaches and long hours, and now is moving up fast in the techi world of Mayo Clinic. We have 2 beautiful children, Cody 7.5 yrs and Riley 3.5 yrs. They keep us happy, busy, and on our toes. Cody is entering 2nd grade this fall and plays piano and does gymnastics. Riley will be going to preschool this fall, and he loves anything active, playdates, riding his bike, swimming - just keep him moving. We are blessed as they really love each other and play well together most of the time, despite being 4 yrs apart in age.

I guess that's my life in 2 paragraphs, certainly seems busier than that. I'm usually the one taking pictures, so I don't have many of me. The one above my daughter took last May - my hair's a little shorter now, but not much different. That's Matt from Father's Day this year, so that's more recent. Riley is from the 4th, and Cody from this spring, and the both of them swimming this summer.

I hope your lives are as fulfilled and happy as ours are, even if you veered off the path you chose in high school as I did. Wishing you all the best and looking forward to catching up with you soon.

15 Year Class Reunion!

Ok everyone! Here is the plan for a 15 yr. class reunion/get-together.

Saturday, August 9

10:00 AM meet at the lower level Marcus Park (by the swimming pool).

Bring your kids so they can play and everyone can enjoy some social time with your families.

Julie is bringing Kool-aid, cups, and a bowl of mixed fruit.

Everyone else please bring munchies and/or drinks to share.

As of now, the parade (at 4:00) is up in the air. Does anyone want to volunteer use of a pick-up?

Gathering uptown in Marcus later that night is open to anyone who would like.

This is a very casual get-together in hopes we can bring some classmates together for social time and catching up with old friends. It should be a lot of fun for those who can make it!

ENJOY and please tell any classmates that might not already know!

Hello All,

Wendy, thank you again for your efforts in tracking us down and creating this blog for us to keep in touch. I think this is the first time since graduation day that I have talked with most of you who will be reading this.

So, where am I after 15 years? I live in Vacaville, California with my wife of 3 1/2 years and our 6 month old daughter Makenna. Vacaville is in Northern California, an hour from San Francisco.

I serve as the Assistant Pastor of our church where I am involved in various ministries. It is a Pentecostal church in our local city and we are very excited about our upcoming move into a new sanctuary.

I work for a gas company where I am also a volunteer industrial firefighter. My wife is a full time mom and in her last week of an MBA program - Hallelujah! Lord willing, we will be traveling to Iowa for Christmas. I would love to hear how the rest of you are doing.

Hi Everyone! Ok, so I took about a 3 month vacation from working on this...sorry! Life has been crazy since the holidays. All if good though!

So I want to start getting input for this summer...big 15 year reunion if we want to get together. What are everyone's thoughts? I've had some emails from a few of you and the common idea seems to be a very low key get-together for those who want to. It has been suggested that we do a family get-together so we can all bring our kids. Possibly at a park. That way it could just be a pot-luck or something since we are very low on funds. I am fine with anything. Send your thoughts and ideas my way. If we decide to do something I would love to ask a couple of you to help me in trying to round up some of our other classmates contact info. I've got a file full of emails and and/or numbers, but it is really old so I have no idea what is still valid.

I just wanted to get the ball rolling on organizing something. Are you all open for the fair weekend?? I've heard having a class float is a riot. We could equip ourselves with water guns and candy to share with the crowds.

What are your thoughts? Either post or reply to the comments.

Just got this picture from my friend. It is New Year's Eve 2007 and my husband Kyle (pink shirt) and our friend Bruce got into the spirit of the 90's music we were listening to! Got to LOVE pinch-rolled jeans!! The only thing they had against them was their cycling socks, instead of white socks!
Notice the adorable little one on the floor...that is one of Bruce and Kristin's triplets! 2 identical boys and a girl...5 yrs old, stayed up until 1:00am!!

Hello everyone!

This is for those of you that may not have received my Christmas card! This is my beautiful family, Breck 8, Burke 6, and Britta will be 2 next week! Chad my lovely husband of almost 10 years already, wow, hard to believe for me too! Ruger is our youngest addition, he just turned 1 after Christmas! We have since added another puppy, Tiger (we are trying to see if a dog can have a complex if we give him a cat's name, ha ha), we have 2 cats, they just were too busy for the family photo, Tarzan and boots, and 1 rabbit, rabbit, he's not very friendly, so we left him out too!

I wrote all about me as a response early on so if you want more detail on my life go back and check it out or just let me know I love to share and brag and about my love ones! :)

I hope all of your Christmas preparations are going well and that this finds you enjoying the holiday season. Wow, I hadn't been on the blog in while and was so excited to see all the posts and pictures and catch up with everyone. I would have to say the Class of 93 has a lot of cute, cute kids to brag about!!! No little ones here, but I must say I love being an aunt and all that goes with it. My niece Becca just turned 5 and my family is looking forward to the arrival of Baby Boy Cowan in February.

I will be spending Christmas at home in Iowa with my mom and family and then back to Kansas City to see in the New Year. I still do a lot of travelling for work and the holidays land right in the middle of our National Hereford Show Season, so lots to do to get ready for the events. January and February will take me to the National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colo., the Southwestern Livestock Exposition in Fort Worth, Texas, and the National Cattleman's Beef Association Annual Convention in Reno, Nev. Let's just say there is never a dull moment this time of year at the American Hereford Association.

Hello All! Nice to get the updates on everyone!

I have been in St. Paul, MN since 1998. I have been married to Andrew Stadheim from Sioux Falls for 11.5 years. We have a 4 year old daughter, Bella, and a 7 mth old son, Derek. We try to play volleyball at least once a week and have been Vikings season ticket holders for 9 years. Bella has actually been to more games than I have this year. She sits there through the whole game which is impressive. Although she now has phrases like "Let's smoke 'em!" and "Kill him" due to her excellent hearing.

My parents are now snow birds and retired so we only get down to Meriden 2-3 times a year. Most of Andy's family is in Sioux Falls so we travel there occasionally too.

The first 7 years I was bored out of my mind as a computer programmer for a large insurance company and teaching yoga at their fitness center. Now I work from home as the office manager for a Swiss company. It's a little wild and intense but almost always fun. I do some bookkeeping, customer relations, shipping, marketing, etc. I have also been able to see Zurich twice which was pretty amazing.

Andy also works from home as he is involved in 2 start up companies so we have a fairly busy household and know the FedEx and UPS guys more than we should. :) I put the links to the various companies below if you are curious.

Wow, it has been so long since I have talked to most of the class. A lot has happened. I was married May 3, 2003 (yup coming up on 5 years). No little ones, yet. Keith and I moved to Wisconsin in 2002 so that he could pursue a career in Microbiology. After vet school (2001) I was practicing in Lake Benton, MN and met Keith. He was going to school at SDSU getting his masters. So we interviewed around and decided to move to Hartford, WI which is only about 35 minutes from Milwaukee. I was working in a 3 vet practice as a large animal only (mainly dairy cows) vet. He found a job at Agtech Products, Inc. a research and development company that works in the agricultural field.

Skip ahead to this year and we recently moved to the country near Neosho, WI and now have a nice little 9 acre farm where we can have our 4 horses and 2 dogs. LOVE IT!!!! Oh yeah and I quit practicing and now work as the ruminant vet at Agtech Products. I miss practice, but have way better hours, no nights, no weekends, no on-call, better pay, better benefits, better vacation and no pulling calves at 2am in the snow. I also do animal chiropractic. I trained in that about 3 years ago and now do mostly horses and some show cattle. Keith is originally from South Dakota and our goal is to move back somewhere in South Dakota in the next few years. Much to Keith's chagrin I also own a couple of cattle. He likes cattle, but I own Ayrshire dairy cattle. I show each year at World Dairy Expo and recently did my first embryo transfer on my cow (pray for lots of heifers!!!). Keith would much rather have some beef cattle as his dad ranches.

Other exciting news is we went elk hunting near Craig, CO in November. I thought that Michelle lived out there, but couldn't remember. Then one morning one of the guides on our hunt (who looked familiar) came up to me and said he was married to Michelle. We went out for supper and it was great to catch up. Chad and Keith got to hear some great stories from back in the MMC days. We don't make it home to Iowa much, but my mom keeps me filled on the good gossip from the area and sends me newspaper clippings.

I guess I am rambling right now, but I wanted to post something to say hi to all and keep in touch!!!

First of all, Thank You to Wendy for setting this up, it will be fun to see everyone's posts and hear about what is going in their lives!

Life has landed me in Des Moines. I really like it here and keep myself busy.

I am currently working at Small and Brewer, PLC. A small CPA firm where I am the office manager. I answer phones, do light accounting work, keep the office organized, and put up with 2 male bosses! They are great guys and I'm glad I found this job. Prior to this I was a stay-at-home Mom for 16 months, working part-time at the YMCA. I still work at the Y, but only about 2 hours a week now instead of the 15-20 I was doing. I am an assistant swim team coach for the Walnut Creek Dolphins. We have a great group of kids from age 5-17. I love it!!

I also sell Gold Canyon Candles on the side, for fun. I LOVE them and will not burn any other candle since I discovered them about 4 years ago. I've only been selling them for a year, but have met so many fun and interesting people.

My husband Kyle works as an Service Advisor for Toyota of Des Moines. Not the most glamorous job, but he likes it and has always been a car guy, so it is right up his alley. He also is an avid cyclist. More Mt. Biking than road cycling, but he races in about 15-20 races a summer and even rides in the winter...sometimes indoors, but outside also. Yep...crazy! I only do one outside ride in the winter and that is the annual BRR (bike ride to Rippey) ride in Feb. It actually is a lot of fun.

We have a 2yr old daughter, Alexa. She is definitely starting the terrible twos and trying to gain her independance every day! It is so much fun and I love watching her grow and accomplish new things. She was so excited the other day every time she actually got the food to stay on her fork...it was adorable!

I wanted to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving. I spent a little time on the farm with my family over the holiday and as always it was good to be back home. My son loves to feed the cows with Grandpa and play in the hay loft in the barn!
I have received email addresses for quite a few different classmates who have not posted to the blog yet. I want to encourage everyone viewing this to post a message. We would all love to hear updates on your current lives. All you need to do is set up an account with a valid email address. Then you can post a message. Thank You Class of 93

Dear Classmates,

I wanted to sincerely thank you for the beautiful plant that was sent in memory of dad when he passed away in August. It brought tears to my eyes when the plant from the Class of 93 arrived at the funeral home. I appreciate your thoughtfulness and for remembering me and my family during a very difficult time. Saying goodbye to dad was the hardest thing I have ever been through, but thanks to thoughts and prayers from good friends like you, I am getting through each day and trying to move forward. You all are the best and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

It is so fun to keep up with you all through this blog, new babies, kids starting school, new job opportunities, it is a great way to keep updated on old friends. I am still in Kansas City working for the American Hereford Association as the Director of Marketing and National Shows. I still enjoy Kansas City. It has been a crazy last year and a half juggling my work travel and trying to spend as much time at home as I could with dad, but so glad that my work was flexible and I was able to be in Iowa whenever I needed or wanted to be. I am so thankful for that. I will continue to get home as much as work allows. Lets do our best to plan a little get together in the next year, I would love to see you all and your families. Hi everyone! What a great idea about the blog. I hope this will keep us up on what everyone has been up to.

I am married to my husband Russ and we have a son, Drew, who is 7 and a daughter, McKenna, who is 5. They are both enjoying school very much. Drew is in every sport possible and McKenna is in soccer and dance. It has been so much fun to see them turn into their own little people!

My husband works for a subsidiary company of HyVee, and his job has allowed us to relocate a couple of times, from Storm Lake to Omaha, and Omaha to the Des Moines area. We are both liking Des Moines very much, and the kids love having so many opportunities at their fingertips!

I am still a Dental Hygienist and am now working in Johnston where we live. It is great being so close to the kids and being able to have a flexible schedule.

Hi everyone!

I am currently living in Pipestone, MN. We relocated to Pipestone in June 2006 after spending 9 years in Newton, IA near Des Moines where my husband and I were both teachers. I spent 6 years teaching k-6 resource and 3 years teaching 2nd grade. We relocated due to my husband and I taking a "leap of faith" in a major career change for him. He is now an Edward Jones Financial Advisor here and it has been a great move for us! I spent last year subbing here and in a neighboring town called Edgerton which is about the size of Marcus, as is the school there. I was offered a 7-12 special ed position last spring in Edgerton and accepted it. We just started school last week, but it's off to a good start with a possible position change in my future that I would LOVE to have so I'll keep you posted.

We have two sons who keep us very busy!! Grant turned 6 in August and started kindergarten last week. Davis will be 3 in October. I love being a mom and enjoy my time with them so much! I enjoy scrapbooking in my free time, which there hasn't been much of lately! I do get to Marcus frequently to see my parents and like to visit with those of you still around the area!

Wendy--we need to get together--I am in Sioux Falls at least once a month, and this week I'm going to be there 3 times I think!!! For those of you who don't know where Pipestone is, we are about 50 miles north east of Sioux Falls and about 2 hours north and a little west of Marcus.

Holly--if you get on this blog, your college friend Amy is the dental hygenist that our family sees here in Pipestone--talk about a small world!!!

Hello everyone! I set up a blog so we can start communicating as a class. It is diffiuclt to keep track of everyone's mailing and email addresses, so maybe this will help us all stay in better contact. Please get the word out about this blog and start posting info about where you are and what you are up to.

I am currently living in Harrisburg, SD and am a gym owner, nutritional supplement business owner and personal trainer. We are expecting our 2nd baby in a few weeks, so am hoping to have some time to work on this blog and other projects in the coming weeks. My other child is named Tytan and he 2 years old. I was just home for the Marcus fair and it was fun to see many familar faces. It would be great to hear from all of you. Spread the word about the blog and start posting!
